オーストラリア出身の作家・Kathy Ike（キャシー・イケ）による個展です。
同時代ギャラリーでは2013年の開催以来、2回目の開催となります。
35年以上前にオーストラリアで中国の芸術家から絵画を習い始めたというキャシーさん。その後京都で20年に渡り墨絵を続けています。
一輪の花、かぼちゃ、猫やカササギなどモチーフの一つ一つをじっくりと描いた作品には、「calm moments」＝穏やかな瞬間 というタイトルの通り、静かでゆったりとした時間が流れているように感じます。

〈Kathy Ike〉Australian
Kathy started brush painting in Australia with a Chinese artist/teacher over 35 years ago.
She continued sumie practice in Kyoto for over 20 years.
Now she is working independently. Her focus is to give viewers a moment of quiet tranquility in her paintings. Just looking – for a moment – at one of her paintings offers a little break from the hectic demands of everyday life.
Kathy has exhibited in Kyoto since 2010, in both group and solo exhibitions,
including at:
The Kyoto Museum of Art Bekkan, (group)
The 1928 Building gallery ‘Collage’ (solo)
Her work has been acquired by various private buyers in Japan, Singapore, the United States and Australia.
