2025年の10denceプラットフォーム日本AIRレジデンシーは、3月15日～4月4日まで京都の同時代ギャラリーガラージュで開催され、4月2日と3日に制作発表会が行われます。

その後、4月4日から14日まで富山県高岡市へ移動し、レジデンシーが行われます。高岡土蔵造りのまち資料館での制作発表は、4月12日と13日に予定されています。

また、このレジデンシーの活動、制作発表、ワークショップ、作品は、2025年5月に発行される特別版「Inspirational Magazine」にて詳細にレビューされます。

執筆・編集はアメリカのマイケル・ヴェチェリオが担当します。

参加アーティストたちは、この全体的なコンセプトに加え、それぞれの芸術的実践を追求し、自身のスタイルやコンセプトを基に京都と高岡でのレジデンシー期間中に作品制作を行います。

コンセプト
「日本の要素」– 10denceプラットフォーム – Japan AIR 2025

国内外でその豊かな文化遺産が広く知られる京都は、独自の魅力を持つ都市です。伝統を守りつつも、新しい文化やトレンドを積極的に取り入れる京都は、伝統的要素と現代的要素が融合した独特な雰囲気を作り上げています。京都は、さまざまな文化やそれを保存する人々が交わる場として長い歴史を持ちます。これを尊重し、レジデンシー活動は、創造的なアートの場として、人々が集い、交流し、つながる場となることを目指します。同時に、個々の芸術表現や研究を通じて、高いレベルのアーティスティックな表現を追求します。

「日本の要素」をテーマにした2025年3月～4月のアーティスト・イン・レジデンスでは、抽象と具象の間を歴史や文化を超えて対話し続けるというコンセプトを探求します。個々のアート実践の核となる部分に基づき、印象や日本での経験を現代アートを通じて表現しようとする個人および集団的な試みを統一テーマとします。

このレジデンシー期間中に制作される新しい作品は、日本の文化遺産や広範な視点からの日本文化に大きな影響を受けることが期待されます。2025年のレジデンシーのために行われるリサーチでは、コンセプト的な価値やアプローチ、意図が幅広い芸術的可能性をもたらします。このレジデンシーのコンセプト的価値は、制作されたアートが一般市民の意識に変化を促し、文化遺産の保存に関する課題の改善や、世界規模での環境保護に関する議論を促進することを目標としています。

参加アーティストたちは、この全体的なコンセプトに加え、それぞれの芸術的実践を追求し、自身のスタイルやコンセプトを基に京都と高岡でのレジデンシー期間中に作品制作を行います。

Well known and recognized for its rich cultural heritage, Kyoto is a unique city from both domestic and international perspectives. Besides its preserved traditions, Kyoto also actively embraces new cultures and trends. The combination of these traditional and contemporary elements created Kyoto’s unique and characteristic atmosphere. Kyoto has a long history as a meeting point for many cultures and those who conserve and sustain them. Honoring these thoughts, we follow the trajectory that our residency should reflect to be an activity for artistic creation where people can gather, exchange, and connect with one another, while bringing a high level artistic expression and research. The ‘Japanese Elements’ concept for the artist in residence in March-April 2025 in Japan, is a reflection and a perpetual dialogue, between abstraction and representation across histories and cultures at the core of their individual art practices. The unifying theme within the ‘Japanese Elements’ concept is the individual as well as collective investigations into the possibilities to transfer their impressions and experiences in Japan by means of contemporary art in general.  The development of new works during this residency, would strongly be inspired by Japanese heritage and culture in a wider perspective. Researching into possible conceptual values, angles and intentions for the 2025 residency in Japan, provided a large quantity of artistic room to move. The conceptual value for the 2025 residency embodies the intention and target that the art created during the residency will stimulate for change to the mindset of the general public and bring inspiration to improve on issues related to the preservation of cultural heritage as well as to generate an overall base for a conscious discussion on the preservation of our habitat worldwide.

The 10dence platform Japan AIR 2025 residency in Kyoto will take place at Dohjidai Gallery Garage from March 15 till April 4 2025 and will be finalized with a presentation of works on April 2 and 3 2025, The residency will relocate after that to the city of Takaoka in Toyama prefecture from April 4 till 14 2025. 10dence Platform in collaboration with Ayaka Kita, Yushin Tokai – Han Bun Ko and Aki Guarino – ARTX will facilitate the Japan AIR 2025 residency in Takaoka and finalize the residency with a presentation of work at the Takaoka Dozo-zukuri Museum on April 12 and 13 2025.

The Japan AIR 2025 residency will be featured within a special edition of Inspirational Magazine in May 2025. This special edition will transfer a detailed review of the activities, presentations, workshops and artworks that will be the outcome of the Japan AIR 2025 residency. Besides to the above overall concept, all participants within this 10dence Japan AIR, will obviously follow their individual artistic practices and they will all work within their own footprint of styles and concepts as a basic ingredient for the work they want to develop during this residency in Kyoto and Takaoka.
